![]() How to Rotate Text in Cells in Excel Lori Kaufman September 9, 2015, 10:24am EDT If you have a spreadsheet where the text in your column headings (not the lettered column headings) is longer than the text in the columns, and there are a lot of columns, you may want to rotate the text in your headings so the columns become narrower. Navigate to the Home tab in the office ribbon, if you aren't already there. You select multiple cells in Excel by holding down the mouse button and dragging the cursor across columns or rows. Taking a quick look at your Excel Skin you can see that the “control” modifier key is the only modifier key that has yellow text. It only uses one modifier key and the 0 key. Step 2: Using the Excel Skin as a guide, press the following keys: (⌃ 0) The “Hide Column” shortcut is very simple. You may have other delimiters in your data. ![]() Note: This example has commas and spaces as delimiters. Clear all the check boxes under Delimiters except for the Comma and Space check box. On the Data tab, in the Data Tools group, click Text to Columns. Ease the strain on your eyes and browse better by setting a default zoom level in the browser.
